Meet the Treetures
The following is a brief description of each of the treeture characters. To learn more about them and see their lessons and activities, click on each character's name.

Treetures

1. Twigs. . .he’s a Treeture Teacher
Treeture Teachers are young and elderly Treetures wise enough to instruct baby Treetures on how to care for the forest life.

2. Sprig. . .he’s a Treedom Fighter
Treedom Fighters work to keep our forests safe and healthy. They protect old forests and help to grow new ones.

3. Blossom. . .she's a Tree Twirler
Tree Twirlers help the wind spread tree pollen so baby trees can be born.

4. Mama Greenleaf. . .she’s a Keeper of the Crown
Keepers of the Crown watch over the newborn leaves that crown the trees and grow at the tips of the branches.

5. Autumn. . .she’s a Leaf Turner
Leaf Turners help the leaves turn colors in the fall. They also help other Treetures when they are in trouble…to turn over new leaves.

6.Blanch. . .she’s a Branch Broker
Branch Brokers help forest birds and animals find just the right home in trees. They even settle squabbles between neighbors and help run the Bed and Branch Hotels in older trees that no longer makes leaves.

7. Chlorophyllis and
8. Chlorophyll. . .they belong to the Sunbeam Team
The Sunbeam Team helps direct sunlight to the leaves so the tree can make its food and can give us something invisible yet magical called "oxygen."

9.Roothie and
10. Rootie. . .are Rooters
Rooters care for the tree roots and encourage them to grow. They are cheerleaders at splinter sprinting games.

11.Harve and
12. Ester. . .they are Harvesters
Harvesters make products out of wood. They help plant new trees where grown trees have been cut down.

13. Phloemina and
14. Woody. . .they are Sap Tappers

Sap Tappers care for the pipe-lines that bring tree food from the leaves to the roots. With their special Xylem Phones, they check the flow of water from the roots to the leaves

15. Bugsey. . .he’s a Blight Fighter
Blight Fighters fight off the Swarm Monster’s army of Gypsy Moths and other insects that attack and try to destroy plant life. They also try to protect the forest from the diseases of Elvirus E. Ville.

16. Weeder and
17. Weedetta. . .they are Weed Watchers
Weed Watchers warn us about the appearance of the Wheedlers who are noxious weeds. Noxious weeds are weeds that grow in the wrong places. They can threaten the growth of plant life as they wheedle their way into forests and over land.
 

18.Stomper. . .he’s a Compost Master
Compost Masters help collect and direct junk leaves and debris to trees and soil where "tree food" is needed. They also create and deliver "Treeture Leaflet" messages.

19. Beeper. . .he’s a Smoke Detector
Smoke Detectors are trained to smell smoke from miles away. Their noses BEEP and signal the first sniff of smoke. They help protect the forest from unnatural fire.

20. Sergeant Core. . .he’s a Protector of the Heartwood
Protectors of the Heartwood know the deep secrets of the inner parts of the trees and try to protect them from damage.

21. Prunita and
22. Clipper. . .they are Little Shaver

Little Shavers prune the trees and chop away dead and broken twigs from the branches. They use helichoppers to do their job.
 

23.Steward. . .he's a Street Treeture
Street Treetures, Streetures, as they like to be called, protect the trees that grow on streets. Every street tree needs a Steward.

24.Ring-A-Ling. . .he’s a Ring Counter
Ring Counters keep track of the age of trees and the Treetures’ birthdays...they ring in each new year!

25.Professor Arbor E. Tum and
26. Professor Vinca Vinestein. . .they are Treesearch Scientists
Treesearch Scientists are dedicated to finding new ways to help trees grow and survive on Earth. They are tree-mendously excited about helping trees to grow and live happily in towns and cities.

27. Doc Barkley. . .he’s a Tree Doctor
Tree Doctors help mend broken limbs, wounded bark and perform transplants.

28. Pine Princess. . .She's an Evergreen Leader
Evergreen Leaders help trees reach for the sky. They point to the sun in the daylight and dance under the stars at night. They work all year to keep their special trees strong and healthy.

Babies and Sproutllings

They watch over the flowers and veggies that grow in gardens that are planted near trees.

3. Chip
4. Petals
5. Pod. . .they are the Sproutlings
Sproutlings are young Treetures who are learning all about forest life from all the magical Treeture Tree Keepers.

6. Needles. . .He's an Evergreen Leader in Training
When a tree’s leader is broken by wind, storm or accident, he helps train the next strongest branch to become the leader.

Mudsters

1.The Mud Meister. . .he’s a Soil Spoiler
Soil Spoilers like polluted places, landslides and stagnant water. Treetures try to trick them into becoming Soil Toilers who strive to fight erosion and replenish the land with healthy soil.

2. Root Snoot. . .he’s a Root Rotter
Root Rotters steal water from needy roots and sometimes direct too much water to tree roots causing havoc for the Treeture Rooters. All the Root Rotter’s underground antics and burrowing can be useful when they help the worms aerate the soil.
 

3. Crud. . .he’s a Decayer
Decayers pretend to be part of a healthy tree so they can attract tree destroying insects and disease to openings and wounds in the bark. Crud must be persuaded to spend his time around old dead wood so that his decomposing buddies will help him turn the dead wood into tree food.

4.Fun Gus. . .he’s a Mushroominator
Mushroominators can be killers when they "hang out" on healthy trees. The Treetures try to lure them to tree stumps and dead branches where they can help do the important job of decomposing. It’s important to learn the difference between friendly mushrooms and Mushroominators.

5.Humus. . .he’s a Dirt Dumper
Dirt Dumpers enjoy eating tender roots, leaves and vegetation. They like to toss a trail of leftover "garbage" everywhere they go. The Treetures try to tease them into being in just the right places where the soil needs to be enriched.

Forest Fiends

1. Spark
When under control, he can help people and nature, but out of control, he’s a great danger to all.

2. The Swarm Monster and his Army of Gypsy Moths
They destroy the trees’ leaves and plant life.

3. Elvirus E. Ville
She spreads disease to trees and plant life.
